Ground pass for wimbledon?

I'm really confused about how the ground passes for wimbledon work. I am hoping to watch the tennis on the 24th June, Friday. But I am hoping to watch after 5pm as it's cheaper. Do I just turn up on the day and line up in the queue around 5pm? Will I be lining up for hours? or by that time is it less busy?
