Why don't people have actually 'corrective' glasses?

Eyes and the muscles in them are inherently degenerative in nature. Meaning the only way to correct poor vision is through lasik eye surgery. Even still, that is only guaranteed to last at least 4 yrs or up to 20yrs, because the eye will gradually go back to the way that it was before the corrective surgery.
